Location: Cairns Botanic Gardens, Cairns, QLD

Partner: Let's Go Buggin

Tropical North Queensland has a huge number of fungi species and Bridgette has spent hundreds of hours in the gardens learning the many locations and cycles of the fungi kingdom. Her huge collection of photographs is a testament to the vast amount of fungi on offer for you to capture some photographs of your own. Check out her Mushroom dedicated Instagram Gallery here.

We are fortunate to have consistent mushrooms such as stinkhorns (Phallus species), polypores, fans, boletes, ascomycetes (zombies), corals, birdnest fungi and slime moulds all just waiting to be seen and photographed. This is the only specialised mushroom and fungi photography walking tour in Australia.

As part of the tour, Bridgette can help you with your camera settings and composition ideas, techniques and suggestions for capturing amazing images of the mushrooms that we encounter.

Itinerary:

After conducting a short safety briefing, we will commence walking around the gardens to various ‘goto’ spots I have found and you will have the opportunity to take photographs of the mushrooms.

Times:

Every Sunday 8:30 – 10.30 am during Wet Season (January & February). Other times may be available by request, depending on the weather.
